Do you have ideas on what you would like to see from the ECR network?
Interested in getting involved in our committees or standing for election to an official role?
Following on from a successful launch event last November and grant writing peer feedback event in February this year, the interim organising committee of the ECR Network are looking ahead to the rest of 2015 and beyond.
At the launch event, you indicated interest in providing a clear voice to the Faculty leadership and events on (among other great ideas!): grant and paper writing skills, career development, an ECR-focused seminar series and conference, and networking.
In order to achieve this, we are now looking to grow the organising committee and formalise our structure. We therefore invite people who are interested in participating in the organising committee, and potentially seeking election to an official role (chair, secretary, treasurer, sponsorship officer, events officer, communications officer, outreach officer) to join us for an informal (BYO) lunch on 18th May 2015, from 12.30-1.30pm in Seminar Rooms GM003 and GM002 on the Ground floor (Mezzanine level) of the Peter Doherty Institute, 792 Elizabeth Street (corner of Elizabeth and Grattan Streets).
This will provide an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss the proposed structure of the organising committee, and seek nominations for office holders, prior to a general election and inauguration of a standing organising committee.
For more information on the purpose and structure of the ECR Network along with details on the roles, check out our Terms of Reference and Structure pages. There has been strong support for the creation of the ECR Network from both ECRs and the Faculty, and we believe this is a great opportunity to promote research and career development opportunities, build networks and create a stronger ECR community.
When: 18th May 2015, 12.30-1.30 pm
Where: Seminar Rooms GM003 and GM002 on the Ground floor (Mezzanine level) of the Peter Doherty Institute, 792 Elizabeth Street (corner of Elizabeth and Grattan Streets)
If you are interested in getting involved but not able to attend this meeting, you can email us on email@example.com
